About Room 16

Room 16 is the main stream new entrant class at Kawakawa Primary. All the students are 5 years old and love coming to school and learning with Whaea Narelle, our kaiako. We are hands-on class that are learning to take responsibility for our learning and become our own teachers. We are discovering our learning skills through a process called learning through play. Have a look and see how we extend and challenge ourselves.

Being responsible of our learning

Room 16 has been looking at being learning about the responsibility of our own learning. We have been making learning goals and our next steps. Some of us have asked to be the tuakana and run our very own learning workshops for other tamariki to learn from us.
