About Room 16

Room 16 is the main stream new entrant class at Kawakawa Primary. All the students are 5 years old and love coming to school and learning with Whaea Narelle, our kaiako. We are hands-on class that are learning to take responsibility for our learning and become our own teachers. We are discovering our learning skills through a process called learning through play. Have a look and see how we extend and challenge ourselves.

C is for colourful!

Room 16's sound for the week was Cc so we were exploring different things that had this sound. We decided to make colourful trees to take home. This wasn't just sound mahi but art and maths too! We had to order our shapes from biggest to smallest and use different colours. We even shared our shapes with others and helped one another.

  1. Kia ora Room 16,
I love your colourful trees that you made, they are awesome! I like that you had to order your shapes too.
Did you use crayon to colour your tree trunks?
Room 1 might have to make some fantastic art work like this too.
